Privacy

Almost Captain is free. To join the crew we store your name and email address, and, if you tick the box, we use your email for the newsletter. You can change this any time under Settings, and you can delete your account there, which removes your data, posts and comments.

Your name, profile picture and anything you choose to fill in on your profile (bio, place, sailing type, experience, social handles) are shown on your profile and with your posts and comments. Your email address, birthday and postal address are private: only the Almost Captain team can see them, and we use them only to run the community and, if you agreed, to send the newsletter.

We use one cookie to keep you logged in. We do not run advertising or tracking cookies. YouTube videos are loaded in privacy-enhanced mode. Photos you upload are resized and stripped of hidden data such as GPS location. We never sell or share your email address.
